Dr. Michele Mannering, Ph.D
Dr. Michele Carol Mannering is a licensed psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She completed her undergraduate degree in human development at Boston College and also obtained a master’s degree in developmental psychology at Boston College. She received her PhD from Fordham University in the school psychology program. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Children’s Hospital Boston in the Developmental Medicine Center, a clinical position comprised of diagnostic and extended diagnostic assessment, consultancy, and short-term treatment with patients ranging from infancy to adolescence. During this year, Dr. Mannering participated in nationally recognized
Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program, developing leadership skills to improve the status of infants, children, and adolescents with (or at risk for) neurodevelopmental disabilities and to enhance systems of care for these children and their families. Dr. Mannering completed a second fellowship year at the University of Miami/Miller School of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics, Mailman Center for Child Development, focusing on neuropsychological testing for children and adolescents with chronic medical conditions and compromised immunological functioning. In addition to working in private practice settings, Dr. Mannering has worked as a school psychologist in therapeutic schools for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities in Boston and Miami. She has also served as an adjunct professor at Florida International University in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Dr. Mannering often speaks at schools and through organized groups on topics pertinent to child health and development. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Association of School Psychologists, and the Mecklenburg Psychological Association. For the past five years, Dr. Mannering has run her independent clinical practice, Myers Park Pediatric Psychology.
